Thibeaux [pronounced Tee Bow] answered the phone. The caller stated, “This is Sue, with AT&T.” Hi Sue, what can I do for you? You are a very good and valuable customer, stated the caller. Well thank you, said Thibeaux. For being such a loyal customer you have earned a huge discount on your bill. Thibeaux replied, thanks, I already paid it, just send me a check for the difference.
Oh, no, you don’t understand said the caller, this is for your future bills. You have earned a rate much lower than anyone can get anywhere else. Okay said Thibeaux, just apply the discount and thanks again. Well, I need you to sign a three-year contract. Why do I need to sign a contract to get a discount you say I have already earned? A little flustered the caller replied, “That’s so you want leave and go to another carrier.”
Thibeaux asked, if it’s the lowest rate I can get anywhere, why would I leave? There was a pause, well you have to sign the contract to get the discount. I though you said I had already earned the discount for being a good and valuable customer? Well, uh, uh, let me call you at a more convenient time. Click!

Hi Louis,
No-one likes to sign contracts. The supplier had made a great jesture right up to the point where a contract was needed. If the service and price is the best anywhere, why on earth would they need a contract?
My thought would be the price would rise or service decrease a few months after signing the contract.
My pet hate is contracts!!!!
