The recent storms in our area left a fair amount of things to be repaired. One expensive repair was my outdoor sign. Still standing, but somewhat the worse for wear. I decided while having it repaired I would also replace the faces and upgrade to HID lighting.

I called four companies for quotes. One, I decided against immediately because the “phone manners.” Another, has yet to come out (4 weeks.) The third and forth looked and sent estimates. Both were within a few thousand dollars. Thee days later, one of the two called to follow up. “These are the reasons I think we are the best choices.” “Can we do the job for you?”

This makes me wonder how many times I have given a large estimate to a client, thanked them for coming in, but never followed up?

We began a system within the last year of follow up calls on almost every estimate of any size (we save them on our screen with the date estimated). Like most things, it has not made a massive difference, but it helps some and is very quick and simple to do.
