This advertisement ran in our local newspaper several years ago. A friend brought it to my attention and the interpretation is mine.

Actual help wanted ad:

Needed immediately, 


experienced auto mechanic.


Must be able to solve problems, 


have own tools and be self starter.  


Complainers need not apply.  


Call XXX-XXXX

Interpretation:

Needed immediately = I have run off most or all of my techs or several have recently left

Experienced auto mechanic = I don’t provide any training

Must be able to solve problems = I don’t provide any equipment or information to help you

Have own tools = I expect you to buy everything

Be self starter = I provide no management support

Complainers need not apply = I am too stupid to realize that I am the problem and this place stinks as a place of employment.

Call XXX-XXXX = I know if I put the company name in the ad you may not even apply
